This is the first of four posts about headwear. First up: turbans. I wanted to start with Audrey because she's such a style icon and it's a joy to see a photograph where she looks so happy.

Turbans had featured in film and fashion long before, however. Here's a wonderfully sultry photograph of 1920s film star Anna May Wong...

The legendary Molly Parkin is famous for her beautiful headwear. If you haven't read her autobiography, I strongly recommend it; one of the most interesting (and scandalous) memoirs I have ever read. During the late 1960s Molly was fashion editor of Harper's Bazaar and then The Sunday Times. Her wonderful stories turn the air blue! We have the book in our Kings Cross studio and customers are welcome to borrow it from our library at any time.

Fashion aside, it would be impossible to write a post about turbans without mentioning the sublime Jennifer Saunders...
